Oppo is preparing for a major smartphone launch in India on May 21 with the introduction of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Oppo Find X9s.
The launch is particularly significant because the Find X9 Ultra will become Oppo’s first Ultra-branded flagship smartphone to officially arrive in the Indian market.
Both devices were globally unveiled in April alongside the Find X9s Pro and will now expand Oppo’s premium Find X9 series in India, joining the existing Find X9 and Find X9 Pro models introduced last year.
The smartphones will be available through Amazon India, Flipkart, and Oppo India.
Oppo Find X9 Ultra to focus heavily on photography
The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is expected to target premium flagship buyers with a strong focus on advanced camera technology and high-end hardware.
The smartphone features a large 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO display supporting refresh rates of up to 144Hz, aimed at delivering smoother visuals and improved gaming performance.
Photography appears to be one of the biggest highlights of the device.
The Find X9 Ultra comes equipped with a triple rear camera setup consisting of:
- A 200-megapixel primary camera
- A 200-megapixel 3x telephoto lens
- A 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom
The periscope lens reportedly offers a 230 mm equivalent focal length and uses an advanced Quintuple Prism structure that reflects light five times within a compact 29 mm internal space.
The camera system also supports Sensor Shift stabilisation and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), which are expected to improve low-light photography and long-range zoom performance.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powers flagship model
Under the hood, the Find X9 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, positioning it among the most powerful Android smartphones expected to launch this year.
The smartphone houses a large 7,050 mAh silicon-carbon battery, with support for expected 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
For security, Oppo is expected to include a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
Additional features reportedly include dual stereo speakers along with IP68 and IP69 certifications for water and dust resistance, offering enhanced durability for premium users.
Oppo Find X9s to offer slim design and balanced performance
The Oppo Find X9s is expected to serve as a slightly more compact flagship alternative within the series.
It features a 6.59-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
The smartphone also focuses strongly on camera performance through Oppo’s Hasselblad partnership.
The device includes a triple 50-megapixel Hasselblad camera system integrated into a slim 7.99 mm chassis.
The Find X9s additionally supports 4K 60fps Dolby Vision video recording across all cameras.
MediaTek Dimensity 9500s and large battery onboard
The Find X9s is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset built on a 3nm manufacturing process.
To manage thermal performance, Oppo has included a large 32,052.5 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system.
The device also packs a 7,025 mAh silicon-carbon battery, continuing the trend of larger battery capacities in premium smartphones.
Both the Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s are expected to run on Android-based ColorOS 16.
The upcoming launch underlines Oppo’s efforts to strengthen its position in India’s premium smartphone segment, where competition among flagship Android brands has intensified significantly.
