IT major Wipro has launched an Applied AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Anthropic’s Claude models at its Bengaluru innovation hub, marking a significant step in the company’s efforts to accelerate artificial intelligence adoption across industries.

The initiative has been established under Wipro’s newly formed AI-Native Business & Platforms Unit and aims to help enterprises integrate advanced AI capabilities into their operations and business processes.

Focus on enterprise AI adoption

According to the company, the new centre will focus on deploying Anthropic’s Claude AI models across enterprise workflows and industry-specific applications.

The capabilities developed through the CoE will be integrated into Wipro’s Intelligence platform stack, enabling organisations to incorporate AI-driven solutions across delivery systems, business functions and industry operations.

Wipro said the initiative is designed to help clients embed AI into core business processes while improving efficiency and innovation.

AI solutions for multiple sectors

The Bengaluru-based technology company plans to develop AI-powered platforms and solutions for industries including healthcare, manufacturing, airlines, mortgage services and consumer businesses.

In addition to client-facing applications, Claude models will also be deployed across Wipro’s internal departments, including finance, human resources and sales functions, as part of the company’s broader AI transformation strategy.

A dedicated team of Forward Deployed Engineers trained on Claude models will work directly with clients to support implementation and accelerate AI adoption.

10,000 professionals to receive AI training

As part of the programme, Wipro has announced plans to certify 10,000 frontline delivery professionals in the use of Claude AI models over the next 18 months.

The company believes the large-scale training initiative will strengthen its ability to deliver AI-driven solutions and meet growing demand from enterprises seeking to integrate artificial intelligence into their operations.

Commenting on the launch, Wipro Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Srini Pallia said the new centre represents a significant step in advancing the company’s strategy of being consulting-led and AI-powered.

The move comes as global technology firms increasingly invest in industry-specific AI capabilities to capitalise on the rapidly expanding enterprise AI market.
