New Delhi: Xiaomi has confirmed that its flagship Xiaomi 18 Pro smartphone will launch in India in the coming months, bringing a distinctive dual-display design, a powerful Snapdragon processor and a camera system featuring two 200-megapixel sensors. The announcement was made by Xiaomi India during Snapdragon Day at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026.
Gautam Batra, Associate Director of Product Marketing at Xiaomi India, confirmed the India launch plans. However, the company has not yet disclosed the exact launch date or official Indian pricing.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to compete in the premium smartphone segment, with its compact design, Leica-branded cameras, large battery and high-end hardware aimed at buyers seeking flagship performance. The device will also introduce a secondary display on the rear, allowing users to check notifications, interact with widgets and take selfies using the main cameras.
Xiaomi 18 Pro features dual AMOLED displays
One of the biggest highlights of the Xiaomi 18 Pro is its dual-screen arrangement. The smartphone features a 6.4-inch flat LTPO AMOLED display on the front, offering 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits.
The rear panel houses a smaller 2.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display positioned alongside the camera module. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits.
The secondary screen is designed to provide more than a decorative element. Users can check notifications, access widgets, display custom graphics and frame high-resolution selfies using the rear cameras.
This approach could appeal to users who frequently take self-portraits or want quick access to information without relying entirely on the main display. The smaller screen may also offer additional ways to personalise the phone.
Xiaomi has also introduced its Super Pixel Display 2.0 technology. The hardware-based privacy feature uses specialised micro-baffles and privacy pixels to narrow viewing angles when activated, making it harder for people nearby to see the contents of the screen.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 powers the phone
The Xiaomi 18 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, which is based on a 2-nanometre architecture. Its Oryon CPU cores are reported to reach clock speeds of up to 5.01GHz.
The processor is expected to make the device suitable for demanding tasks, including high-end mobile gaming, video editing, intensive multitasking and AI-assisted applications.
Xiaomi will offer the phone with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, alongside internal storage options of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.
To manage heat during extended gaming sessions and heavy workloads, the company has incorporated a redesigned ring-shaped cold-pump cooling system. Effective thermal management will be important for maintaining consistent performance under sustained loads.
The chipset, memory configurations and cooling system position the Xiaomi 18 Pro as a premium device designed for users who expect substantial processing power.
Leica camera system includes two 200MP sensors
Photography is another major focus of the Xiaomi 18 Pro. Developed in partnership with Leica, the rear camera system features two 200-megapixel sensors alongside a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The main camera uses a 200-megapixel Light Fusion 960 sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches and includes optical image stabilisation (OIS). The large sensor and stabilisation system are intended to support detailed photographs and improve results in challenging lighting conditions.
The second 200-megapixel sensor is paired with a periscope telephoto lens. It offers optical image stabilisation and 3.2x optical zoom, while also supporting close-up macro photography from as near as 12cm.
The 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera is designed for landscape photography, group pictures and wider compositions. On the front, the phone features a 50-megapixel camera housed in a punch-hole cutout for selfies and video calls.
The dual 200-megapixel arrangement is among the phone’s most prominent specifications. However, real-world image quality will also depend on image processing, colour reproduction, low-light performance and the consistency of the camera software.
7,000mAh battery and fast charging
Despite its relatively compact form, the Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. This capacity could be useful for users who spend long hours gaming, streaming videos, taking photographs or using mobile data.
The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. These features give users the option of faster charging through a cable or the convenience of wireless power.
The device also includes Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port and dual stereo speakers. It carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
On the software front, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is listed as running Android 17 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 interface. A dedicated AI button is another addition to its hardware, although the precise range of functions available through the button will be important to assess once the phone reaches the market.
Xiaomi 18 Pro India price and launch timeline
Xiaomi has confirmed that the phone is coming to India, but it has not announced a specific launch date, sale date or official price.
The device could enter the market at more than ₹1 lakh, according to the estimate published by India Today. That projection takes into account the pricing of the previous Xiaomi 17, which debuted at ₹89,999, as well as rising component costs.
The expected price has not been confirmed by Xiaomi and should not be treated as the final retail price.
At that level, the Xiaomi 18 Pro would compete with other premium smartphones offering flagship processors, advanced camera systems and high-refresh-rate displays. Buyers will likely compare its camera capabilities, battery performance and software experience before deciding whether it offers value for money.
The dual-display arrangement and two 200-megapixel rear cameras could help distinguish it from conventional flagship devices. Nevertheless, the final assessment will depend on the Indian variant’s pricing, software support and performance in independent reviews.
A new premium option for Indian smartphone buyers
The Xiaomi 18 Pro’s confirmed India launch expands the company’s upcoming premium smartphone portfolio. Its combination of dual displays, a high-end Snapdragon processor, Leica camera technology and a large battery gives it a distinctive specification sheet.
For Indian buyers, the most important details still to come are the official price, launch date, available colours and final retail configurations.
Until Xiaomi releases those details, prospective buyers should treat the expected pricing as an estimate rather than a confirmed offer. The device’s eventual position in India’s premium smartphone market will depend on how competitively it is priced against rival flagships.
