Social media personalities Anjali Chakra from India and Sufi Malik from Pakistan have publicly announced the termination of their relationship and the cancellation of their upcoming wedding. The duo, who gained significant attention in 2019 for their celebration of South Asian culture and their portrayal of same-sex love, shared the news of their breakup via Instagram, citing infidelity on Sufi’s part as the reason.
Anjali and Sufi embarked on their journey together over five years ago, captivating numerous individuals with their depiction of love that transcended cultural boundaries. Their engagement, occurring a year before their separation, was reminiscent of a fairy tale. Sufi proposed to Anjali at the iconic Empire State Building in New York, a moment they enthusiastically shared with their online followers through a video post.
However, their dreams came crashing down when Sufi confessed to being unfaithful to Anjali just weeks before their scheduled wedding.
“I deeply regret my betrayal by engaging in infidelity a few weeks prior to our wedding. I’ve caused immense pain to her, which I deeply regret. I take full responsibility for my actions and will continue to do so. My actions have caused harm to the people closest to me, including our families, friends, and the community we hold dear,” expressed Sufi in her Instagram statement.
