A viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) serves as a stark reminder of the importance of caution when opening car doors in the midst of traffic. The footage, posted by X user @3rdEyeDude, captured a shocking incident in Karnataka, where a woman suddenly opened the door of a car, leading to a collision with an autorickshaw. The event, which occurred on a busy road on Wednesday afternoon, was recorded by the dashboard camera of another vehicle.
In the clip, the woman negligently swings open the cab door amidst traffic, causing an oncoming autorickshaw to collide with it. Following the impact, the woman attempts to nonchalantly close the damaged door, seemingly unfazed by the accident. Meanwhile, the autorickshaw halts to assess the damage, while the woman swiftly departs the scene without acknowledging or apologizing for her actions.
“Passenger opens car door in traffic, resulting in auto collision. Despite the crash, she walks away as if nothing happened. Caught on dashcam,” wrote the X user alongside the video.

Since its posting, the video has garnered over 90,000 views. Commenters have placed blame on both the cab driver and the woman for the incident. Some argue that the driver should have cautioned the passenger before she opened the door, while others squarely fault the woman for her reckless behavior.
“Looks like that door’s history! Needs serious repairs. I’d say it’s the taxi driver’s fault. Drivers should never encourage passengers to exit from the right side. Always park on the left and have passengers alight from the left door,” remarked one user. Another commented, “The cabbie should’ve warned the passenger about the traffic before the brainless woman opened the door.”
“It’s comical watching the lady try to close the damaged door as if nothing happened, and then she just walks away like ‘that’s just how car doors are!'” quipped a third user.
“Primarily the passenger’s fault. But as a responsible driver, the autorickshaw driver should have maintained a safe distance JUST IN CASE the cab door opened. Driving is all about anticipating such scenarios, especially in our country,” expressed a fourth.
