A video that went viral on September 16th depicts women hastily entering a moving local train in Mumbai. In a clear compromise of their safety, commuters began boarding the train one after another while it was still in motion. In the full video, some passengers can be seen struggling to maintain their balance. However, their determination to secure a seat led them to take this risk.
The video was shared by user Akshay, accompanied by the song ‘Yeh Hai Bombay Meri Jaan’ playing in the background.
In response to the video, some Mumbai residents explained that they feel compelled to rush onto trains to avoid the arduous and crowded journey of standing in the aisle.
“All seats on any train are occupied by the time it stops at the station. After a long day at the office, it’s difficult to commute for 2.5 hours standing on a crowded train. Don’t forget 75 percent of these women go from work to home to work again,” commented Golden Sunrise (@Divinelove11550).
