Ashish Chanchlani, a popular YouTuber, recently shared an alarming yet amusing real-life incident involving a scam call. He revealed how scammers attempted to deceive him by claiming that a drug package had been sent in his name. To raise awareness about such fraudulent activities, both Delhi Police and Gurugram Police shared his video on their official Instagram accounts.
Chanchlani described how he received a call from individuals impersonating FedEx employees and Delhi Police officers. Initially, he was informed about a drug parcel addressed to him, and the callers urged him to file a report with the authorities. When he agreed to take action, the call was transferred to another person who posed as a Delhi Police officer. However, Chanchlani grew suspicious as the supposed officer responded in English with a South Indian accent, despite him asking questions in Hindi.
As the conversation continued, the scammer suggested that Chanchlani file a police complaint via video call to avoid any legal consequences. Recognizing the fraud, Chanchlani decided to turn the tables on the scammers. He played along and told them that he wanted his “drugs” back, humorously criticizing their service. To further confuse them, he recited verses from Kabir’s Dohas when asked for his address.
The video quickly gained traction on social media, with users applauding Chanchlani’s quick thinking and calling out the scammers. Delhi Police also reshared his video, advising the public to stay vigilant and follow his lead in spotting scams.
Several viewers shared their own experiences with scam calls, further highlighting the growing threat. Social media buzzed with comments praising Chanchlani for his clever response.
