Tumakuru district police have launched the “Locked House Monitoring System” (LHMS) to safeguard properties of residents who are away. This new initiative allows residents to notify their local police station before leaving town. In response, the police will install CCTV cameras at key points around the property to monitor it 24/7.
Key Features:
- Registration: Residents must register through the LHMS app to request the installation of cameras.
- Monitoring: Cameras are set up to prevent theft and ensure property safety during absences.
- Technology: The system includes 100 IP-based motion sensor cameras, and data is monitored via a control room dashboard.
This proactive measure aims to enhance public safety and security by preventing property offenses like house-breaking thefts. The LHMS initiative has been well-received, with positive feedback and increasing public use.
