Kundapur: A 60-year-old motorcycle rider died after a car allegedly rammed into his two-wheeler from behind near Kannadakudru Cross close to Hemmady on National Highway 66 on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Narasimha Achar, 60, a resident of Santosh Nagar in Hemmady.
According to reports, Narasimha Achar was travelling from Trasi towards Kundapur on his motorcycle when the accident occurred.
Car allegedly hit bike from behind
The accident reportedly took place near Kannadakudru Cross, a stretch of NH-66 close to Hemmady.
According to preliminary information, a car allegedly being driven by Deepak Kumar at high speed and in a negligent manner approached the motorcycle from behind and collided with it.
The impact of the collision caused Narasimha Achar to lose control of his motorcycle and fall onto the road.
He sustained serious injuries in the accident.
