Udupi: The renowned Kaupu Sri Hosa Marigudi Temple, a spiritual landmark of the district, is well known for drawing countless devotees daily, including film stars, judges, senior officials, and political leaders. On Tuesday, actress Rakshita Prem made an unexpected visit to the temple, fulfilling a vow she had made recently.

Clad in a long veil, the actress first visited Kateel Temple before arriving at Kaupu to seek the blessings of Goddess Mariyamma. The temple’s head priest, Vedamurthy Srinivasa Tantri Kalya, along with the management and development committees, welcomed her with honors and invoked the goddess’s grace upon her.

Rakshita performed annadan seva (mass food offering) and later carried out a grand ritual as an act of thanksgiving for her fulfilled wishes. Speaking to the media, she revealed that her mother had visited the temple only last week and made a vow. “I too wanted to come, but I never expected my mother to call me here so soon. The temple has been built in a magnificent way,” she shared.

Temple officials expressed happiness at her participation in the rituals. Present during the occasion were Management Committee Chairman Ratnakar Shetty Nadikere, Promotion Committee General Convenor, Ghantana Seva Committee President Yogish V. Shetty Balaji, Management Committee Member Madhav R. Palan, along with Ravindra Mallar, Charita Devadiga, Promotion Committee Convenor Jayaram Acharya, and Manager Govardhan Serigar.

The visit added yet another moment of grace and prominence to the temple’s growing spiritual and cultural significance.
