Udupi: The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) poses a significant challenge to the world of art and its creators, said renowned author Dr. B. Bhaskara Rao. He emphasized that artists and institutions must embrace this change and evolve, rather than resist it.

Dr. Rao was addressing an audience at the inauguration of the Pragyanam Trust at the IYC auditorium of Udupi Yakshagana Kalaranga. The event was presided over by senior linguist Nadoja Prof. K.P. Rao, who shared insights into the evolving landscape of art and culture.

A Celebration of Art and Culture

The logo of the Pragyanam Trust was officially unveiled during the event, marking a new beginning for artistic endeavors. Notable personalities, including literary writer Sudha Adukala, Bharat Scouts and Guides District President Jayakar Shetty Indrali, and Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Poornima, shared their thoughts on preserving and promoting artistic heritage in the AI era.

The occasion also witnessed the felicitation of drama director Ganesh Rao Ellur for his contributions to the field. G.P. Prabhakar Thumari extended a warm welcome and delivered the introductory speech, while Usha Perdoor skillfully compered the program.

A Theatrical Tribute

Following the formal proceedings, Vidushi Sanskriti Prabhakar mesmerized the audience with a solo performance of “Pedagolida Pelukku”—a play that illuminates the life of Natya Rani Shantala and her artistic journey.
