During his visit to Udupi, Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai reiterated his role as a dedicated party worker, stating, “I will serve in any capacity the party assigns me.”

Amid rising political activity ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections, Annamalai confirmed that Home Minister Amit Shah recently met AIADMK leader Edappadi Palaniswami, signaling potential revival of the BJP-AIADMK alliance. “Our unified goal is to unseat the DMK,” he said.

On his political future, Annamalai declared he will not contest the Tamil Nadu BJP State President elections and firmly denied any speculation about resignation.

Addressing the controversial Waqf Act, he explained its evolution, highlighting major amendments made in 1995, 2013, and now 2025. He defended the reforms as inclusive and progressive, especially benefiting economically weaker Muslim women. “This is not unconstitutional,” he asserted, confident that legal challenges from DMK will not hold up.

On the gas price hike, he called out Congress for “dodging facts,” attributing the rise to global supply issues. “Despite the pressure, the Centre has worked to stabilize fuel prices,” he added, noting a leap in domestic LPG usage from 64% in 2014 to 100% today.

Commenting on Karnataka politics, he alleged that a CD scandal involving a powerful figure reflects the “anti-people nature” of the Congress government. He urged citizens to support BJP’s Janakrosha Yatra and pledged continued efforts to dislodge Congress from power.
