Udupi: The Udupi District BJP held a solemn observance of ‘Balidana Divas’ at the party’s district office in Kadiyali, paying homage to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

Party leaders gathered to offer floral tributes before a portrait of Dr. Mukherjee, reflecting on his profound contributions to national unity and political thought.

Delivering a heartfelt address, former district president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde described Dr. Mukherjee’s life as a beacon of inspiration for BJP members. He urged attendees to delve into the leader’s philosophy, vision, and ultimate sacrifice, remarking that the circumstances of Mukherjee’s untimely death remain unresolved to this day.

Hegde emphasized Dr. Mukherjee’s firm stand on Kashmir and his unwavering commitment to India’s unity and integrity, encouraging party workers to study his ideology for deeper understanding.

The event was presided over by District BJP President Kutyaru Naveen Shetty, while State General Secretary and MLA V. Sunil Kumar and Mangaluru Division In-charge K. Uday Kumar Shetty also graced the event. Office-bearers from the district, mandal, and party fronts were in attendance.

District General Secretary Reshma Udaya Shetty delivered the welcome address and opening remarks. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Srikanth Nayak.
