Udupi: To commemorate the 79th Independence Day of India, the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, in association with the Rotary Club Midtown, Udupi, organized a charitable program at the Government District Hospital, Ajjarkadu, on Friday, August 15, 2025. As part of the initiative, nutritious food packets and essential daily-use items were distributed to patients.

Ahead of the distribution, a short formal gathering was held. Ronald Almeida, President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the outreach, thanking donors, Rotary officials, and members for their wholehearted support.

Hospital doctors including Dr. Manjunath, Dr. Venkatesh, and Dr. Sudeep, along with several staff members, were present on the occasion.

Rtn. Raghavendra Bhat, President of Rotary Club Midtown, addressed the gathering and extended gratitude to contributors whose generosity made the program possible. Rtn. Jagannath Shetty, Secretary of Rotary Club Midtown, proposed the vote of thanks, while Rtn. Alwyn Quadros, former President of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, compered the event.

Despite heavy rains, a large number of members from both organizations actively took part in the noble effort, reflecting strong community spirit.

After the program, the team distributed food packets and essentials to every patient in the hospital, aiming to provide not only physical nourishment but also encouragement and emotional strength. Patients expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organizers for their thoughtful gesture.
