Confidence in government schemes

Hebbalkar highlighted that the state government’s guarantee schemes have reached households across Karnataka and have positively impacted people’s lives. She noted that these initiatives have contributed not only to development but also to increased household income.

“Women voters, in particular, are satisfied with the government’s initiatives,” she said, adding that this support base would play a key role in the party’s performance in the bypolls.

Reiterating her stance, she said, “We will definitely win in both constituencies. In a democracy, everyone has the right to seek a ticket, but victory is our only benchmark.”

Candidate selection in Davanagere South

Referring to the Davanagere South constituency, which fell vacant following the demise of Shamanur Shivashankarappa, Hebbalkar said the party has fielded a member of his family in line with its internal decision-making process.

She emphasised that the Congress is committed to the directives of its high command and is confident that the chosen candidate will receive public support.

Assurance on Varahi project

Responding to queries regarding the Varahi project, the minister assured that the government would ensure fairness to all stakeholders, particularly farmers affected by the project.

She stated that farmers from both sides have already submitted their representations and that the district administration is working towards a balanced solution. “No injustice will be done to anyone,” she said.

Hebbalkar also informed that the deputy commissioner has visited the project site and conducted an inspection. The government aims to expedite the project while safeguarding farmers’ interests.

KSRTC bus stand issue in Byndoor

Addressing concerns about some government buses not entering the newly constructed KSRTC bus stand in Byndoor, the minister said that steps are being taken to resolve the issue.

She announced that a बैठक involving National Highways authorities will be convened through the deputy commissioner to address the matter at the earliest and ensure smooth functioning of the facility.

Conclusion

The minister’s remarks reflect the Congress party’s confidence ahead of the upcoming by-elections, backed by welfare schemes and governance initiatives. At the same time, her statements on local development issues indicate ongoing efforts to address infrastructure and agricultural concerns in the region.

As the bypolls approach, political activity is expected to intensify, with both ruling and opposition parties gearing up to secure voter support.
