Bantwal, Jun 9: An elderly man, Sesappa Poojariy (89), was fatally hit by a bus while crossing the road on the morning of Sunday, June 9, in Tumbe.
A resident of Mudalmeppadpu near Tumbe, Sesappa was on his way to Tumbe market to buy household items when he was struck by a government bus traveling from Mangaluru to Dharmasthala in front of Vaishali Hotel. The impact caused severe injuries to his head and face. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed that he had already passed away.
Melkar Traffic SI Sutesh and his team visited the scene and have registered a case.
