Udupi: A 50-year-old fisherman drowned while fishing in the sea near the yard at Hejamady Kodi on Saturday evening, September 19.
The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Puthran (50), a resident of Hejamady Kodi.
Net falls into sea
According to reports, Bhaskar was fishing using a cast net when the net, along with its rope, accidentally fell into the sea.
Bhaskar reportedly entered the water to retrieve the fishing net. However, he lost his balance after being struck by waves and drowned.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening, leaving the local fishing community shocked.
Padubidri police register case
