The ‘Goan Food Festival 2025’, organized by Ruchik Multicuisine Family Restaurant in Bantakal, part of the Fernandes Group, had a grand opening on Tuesday, February 11. The festival was inaugurated by a distinguished panel of guests including MLC Ivan D’Souza, Daijiworld Media founder Walter Nandalike, BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari, former DySP Valentine D’Souza, and businessman Ron Rodrigues, alongside Ruchik restaurant proprietors Wilson Fernandes and Leena Fernandes.

Running from February 12 to 14, from 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm, the festival features a delightful array of Goan delicacies. Alongside the food, guests can enjoy a lively Goan DJ, live band performances, fun games, and vibrant entertainment.

During the inauguration, MLC Ivan D’Souza praised the efforts of Wilson Fernandes, noting his transition from tourism to the food industry and highlighting the global recognition of Goan cuisine. D’Souza expressed his confidence that such an event in Udupi or Mangaluru would draw massive crowds, adding, “The food industry never slows down.”

Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld Media extended his best wishes for the festival’s success and suggested that extending it to the weekend would increase its popularity. BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari emphasized that the festival’s goal was not just to make a profit, but to share good food with the public. Former DySP Valentine D’Souza praised the transformation of Ruchik Restaurant, noting that it now offers the same quality Goan cuisine he enjoyed in Goa.

The festival’s opening was filled with entertainment, including Goan music and a vibrant DJ, making it a memorable celebration of Goan culture and food.
