The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Udupi Deanery, in association with the ICYM Udyavara Unit, will organise a Taizé Prayer Service as part of the Lenten spiritual preparations for youth and faithful in the region.
The prayer service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. onwards at Xavier Sabha Bhavana, Udyavara.
A prayerful Lenten gathering
The Taizé prayer is known for its simple chants, silence, and reflective atmosphere, encouraging participants to experience a deeper connection with God through meditation and prayer.
Organisers said the initiative is aimed at helping young people and the faithful slow down, reflect, and journey deeper in faith during the Lenten season.
The event draws inspiration from the Gospel message: “Come to me, all who are weary and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28), inviting participants to seek peace and spiritual renewal.
Invitation to youth and faithful
The ICYM Udupi Deanery has extended an open invitation to youth, parishioners, and all believers to participate in the prayer service and experience the calm, contemplative spirit of Taizé prayer.
The gathering will focus on prayer, silence, scripture reflection, and devotional music, offering participants a moment of quiet reflection amid daily life.
Organisers hope the programme will help strengthen faith, unity, and spiritual growth among young people during the Lenten journey.
