On Sunday, July 28, Kundaprabha and Manipal Universal Press (MUP) hosted the launch of “Footprint on the Sands of Time,” authored by Dr. Umesh Bhat. The event took place at 4 pm at the Rotary Laxmi Narasimha Kalamandira, Govt Junior College, Kundapur.
Dr. Murali Mohan, a renowned dental surgeon from Mangaluru, was the chief guest for the occasion. He officially released the book and highlighted Dr. Bhat’s significant literary contributions. Dr. Rajgopal Shenoy K, Professor of Surgery at KMC Manipal, praised the book, calling it a testament to the enduring human spirit and a reflection on life’s journey and the marks we leave behind.
The event also featured Dr. Santhosh Pai, retired professor and surgeon from Melaka Manipal Medical College, Malaysia; Jalaja Tholar, a local entrepreneur; and Mahalakshmi Somayaji, a teacher at Viveka Girls High School, Kundapur, as guests of honor. Dr. Umesh Puthran, Medical Director of Chinmayi Hospital, Kundapur, introduced the book, noting Dr. Bhat’s ability to blend professional insights with literary talent.
Arvind N, Managing Editor of Manipal Universal Press, extended his congratulations, emphasizing the book’s profound exploration of life’s journey and its lasting impacts. “Footprint on the Sands of Time” is the 281st publication by MUP, reflecting the press’s commitment to enriching intellectual and cultural discourse.
