Locals and tourists came together to rescue two large and one small sea turtle that were struggling to survive after becoming entangled in a fishing net on the beach opposite Sri Maaraswamy temple in Maravanthe.

The rescue operation took place on Friday, July 26, with Maravanthe gram panchayat member Nagaraja Patagar and local resident Laxman Suvarna leading the effort. With the help of nearby tourists, they carefully cut the net and freed the turtles, allowing them to swim back into the sea.

The timely intervention by the community and tourists highlights the importance of quick action in protecting marine life. The rescue has been praised by local authorities and environmental groups, emphasizing the need for continued awareness and conservation efforts to safeguard endangered species like sea turtles.
