M.C.C. Bank Ltd, a leading urban co-operative bank with a 113-year history, is set to inaugurate its 19th branch in Belman on March 2, 2025. The bank, known for its consistent financial performance, recently declared a 10% dividend for its members for the financial year 2023-24 and reported a record net profit of ₹10.45 crore, the highest in its history.
Strong financial growth and strategic expansion
Under the leadership of ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Shri Anil Lobo, who has been at the helm for the past six years, M.C.C. Bank has expanded its presence across Karnataka, offering modern banking services on par with public and private sector banks. The bank’s total business turnover has crossed ₹1,208 crore, with deposits of ₹676 crore and advances of ₹532 crore as of March 31, 2024.

The bank’s working capital stands at ₹752.95 crore, and its share capital is ₹31.21 crore. M.C.C. Bank has successfully reduced its NPA ratio to 1.12%, demonstrating sound financial health. The bank also maintains a capital adequacy ratio of 23.06%, far exceeding the RBI’s minimum requirement of 9%. For several years, the bank has maintained its ‘A’ grade rating, reflecting its financial stability and regulatory compliance.
Comprehensive banking services and future plans
M.C.C. Bank offers a wide range of financial products including affordable education loans for both domestic and international studies, MSME loans, vehicle loans, housing loans, gold loans with zero processing fees, and locker facilities at low costs. The bank also provides free ATM and mobile banking services, and is the only urban co-operative bank in Karnataka offering NRE accounts for NRIs.

With a focus on digital transformation, the bank plans to introduce services such as Google Pay, PhonePe, UPI, and other digital platforms soon, making banking more accessible to customers across the state.
Recent branch openings and Belman branch inauguration
M.C.C. Bank’s expansion drive has gathered pace in recent months. In March 2024, the bank opened its 17th branch at Brahmavar and later launched its 18th branch at Belthangady, marking a new phase of growth after a 22-year gap in branch expansion. The upcoming Belman branch, which will be the 19th branch, reinforces the bank’s commitment to serving customers in both urban and rural areas.
The inauguration ceremony will be presided over by ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Shri Anil Lobo, President of M.C.C. Bank. The branch will be formally inaugurated by Mr Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Government of Karnataka, while Rev. Fr Frederick Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of St Joseph’s Church, Belman, will bless the new premises.
Mr Walter Nandalike, Founder and Managing Director of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, will be the chief guest. Smt. Rameshwari M. Shetty, President of Belman Grama Panchayath, will attend as Guest of Honour.
ATM inauguration at Brahmavar
Alongside the new branch, M.C.C. Bank will also inaugurate a new ATM at its Brahmavar branch. The ATM, located on the ground floor of Sheshagopi Paradise, NH-66, near Akashvani Circle, Varamballi, Brahmavar, will be officially opened on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

The current Board of Directors of M.C.C. Bank comprises Shri Anil Lobo as President, Shri Gerald D’Silva as Vice-President, and board members including Shri Andrew D’Souza, Shri Anil Patrao, Dr Gerald Pinto, Shri David D’Souza, Shri Elroy Crasto, Shri Roshan D’Souza, Shri Herald Monteiro, Shri J.P.
