Udupi: In a heart-wrenching incident, Melroy Fernandes (55) lost his life in an unsuccessful attempt to end his life at his residence. Fernandes had tried to hang himself from the iron grill of the roofing on the first floor of his house. However, the rope snapped, leading to his fall from a height.
The impact caused severe head injuries, resulting in his death on the spot. Family members and neighbors were devastated by the tragic incident.
It was later revealed that Fernandes had pledged his organs for donation, showcasing his noble intent to help others even in death. The unfortunate incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and timely support for those in distress.
