Udupi: The Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, in collaboration with the University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada, is hosting the Manipal International Conference on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in Health from July 7 to 9 at Dr TMA Pai Auditorium, KMC, Manipal.

Theme & Focus

With the central theme “Envisioning a Future of Global Collaboration for Education, Research, and Practice”, the conference aims to unite global health leaders, educators, researchers, and practitioners to promote inclusive healthcare practices. It will feature scientific paper and poster presentations, fostering discussion, knowledge-sharing, and innovation to address health disparities worldwide.

Pre-Conference Workshop

A workshop on Mixed Methods Research was held on July 7, targeting healthcare professionals and students interested in integrating qualitative and quantitative research. Key facilitators included Dr Judith A Noronha (MCON), Dr Preethy D’Souza (UCL, UK), and Dr Mahalakshmy T (JIPMER).

Inauguration & Key Sessions

The official inauguration is scheduled for July 8 at 10 AM, led by Dr M D Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor of MAHE, along with eminent delegates.

Seven plenary sessions will cover topics such as:

  • Inclusive healthcare leadership

  • Cultural humility in global health

  • Policy and structural changes

  • Empowering marginalised communities

  • Innovation across borders

  • Renowned speakers include Dr Anice George, Dr Seetharam MR, Dr Marie Lina Excellent, Dr Martha Paynter, Dr Vina Vaswani, Dr Cherian Varghese, and Dr Saibala M.
