Manipal, Aug 22: After evading justice for over three decades, Ganesh Prabhu, a key figure in a 1992 assault case, was apprehended by the Manipal police on August 21, 2024. Prabhu, a resident of Badagabettu, Manipal, had been on the run since 2001, leading to the issuance of a Long Pending Case (LPC) warrant against him.

The breakthrough came when a team led by Sub-Inspector Raghavendra C and H C Prasanna Uppoor tracked Prabhu down in Bengaluru. He was subsequently taken into custody and presented before the court with the outstanding warrant.

The case, initially filed by Shivaram at the Manipal police station, had involved 12 individuals in total. Prabhu’s capture marks a significant resolution in a long-standing legal matter.
