Udupi: A mini van parked overnight near a paddy field in Badagabettu village was reported stolen, with the incident coming to light on Tuesday morning.
The complaint was filed by Mohan, 53, a resident of 76 Badagabettu, who stated that he routinely parks his vehicle near a field owned by Umesh, roughly 60 meters from his home, after returning from his shop.
On June 16, Mohan followed his usual routine, locking the van around 10:15 PM before heading home. However, when he returned to the parking spot the next day at 9:00 AM, he was shocked to find the vehicle missing.
After confirming the theft, Mohan approached authorities and a case was registered at the Udupi Town Police Station. Police have begun their investigation, and efforts are underway to locate the stolen van and identify the culprits.
Residents in the area have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
