Two minor siblings were caught by a ticket inspector at Udupi’s Indrali railway station for traveling without a ticket in a compartment reserved for the disabled. The boy and girl, from Bengaluru’s Batarayanapura, had left home without informing their parents. Travel Ticket Scrutiny Officer K. Vasudev Pai handed them over to RPF officer Sudhir Shetty for further legal proceedings.

Spanners were found in their possession during the investigation. After contacting the parents, the children were referred to the Child Welfare Committee in Nittur by case workers Prakash and Ambika S, with assistance from social worker Nithyananda Volakadu. Investigation officer Gina Pinto supervised the process.
