In a heartbreaking incident reported from Udupi district, Karnataka, a married woman and her alleged partner were found dead in what police suspect to be a joint suicide on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Namiksha Shetty (29), a mother of two hailing from Badagumijaru village, and Prashanth, a driver from Nidodi originally belonging to Bagalkote district. Shetty resided in Marakada, while her husband, Satish, is currently employed in Pune, officials stated.

According to preliminary information, Shetty and Prashanth are believed to have become acquainted through Instagram. Their initial interaction apparently blossomed into a romantic relationship. Although unconfirmed, some reports suggest a recent disagreement may have led to the tragic event. However, the specific cause behind their deaths is still under investigation.

Authorities from the Moodbidri police station have filed separate cases based on formal complaints submitted by Namiksha’s father and Prashanth’s brother. A detailed probe is underway to determine the full sequence of events that led to their demise.

The sudden deaths have cast a shadow of grief over both families and their respective communities. Locals remain shocked as further information unfolds.

This case once again highlights the emotional complexities of modern relationships, especially those nurtured online, and the importance of mental health support systems.
