A traffic disruption unfolded on National Highway 66 near Kinnimulki Junction on June 5 after a truck carrying a large tank overturned, blocking the flow of vehicles—especially heavy trucks and tankers.

The mishap occurred at the merge point where the service road meets the main highway towards Mangaluru. According to reports, the incident was triggered by a road signage board that obstructed the truck’s path, leaving the driver with little room to maneuver.

The truck had reportedly been parked at the spot for two days. When the driver attempted to reverse and take an alternate route, the massive tank it was hauling toppled, landing across the road and causing a major obstruction.

Traffic in the area slowed considerably, particularly for heavy vehicles. Responding quickly, Udupi traffic police directed the truck driver to remove the vehicle without delay to ease congestion and restore normal vehicular flow.

Authorities are expected to review signage placement at the site to prevent similar mishaps in the future.
