Udupi: A spiritually vibrant Panchamrut Abhishekam was conducted in reverence to Nagadev at the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Mutt in Kadekaru, Udupi, drawing a large number of devoted followers.
The traditional ritual bathing of the serpent deity, performed with a mixture of five sacred ingredients — milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar — was held with deep devotion and ceremonial precision. The sacred offering symbolized purification and was the central act of the day’s religious proceedings.
Following the abhisheka, the sanctum was adorned with elaborate floral decorations, transforming the Mutt into a space brimming with divine energy and aesthetic charm. The vibrant hues and fresh flowers created an ambiance of festivity and spiritual joy.
Vedamurthy Srisha Acharya, the respected priest of Kadekaru Mutt, led the special pooja rituals, invoking blessings from Nagadev and offering prayers as per Vedic customs. His precise chants and ceremonial guidance heightened the spiritual atmosphere.
The event saw significant participation from devotees despite intermittent rains in the region. Many had gathered since early morning to witness and take part in the rituals, standing patiently to receive the deity’s blessings.
The celebration was not just an act of worship, but also a reaffirmation of the region’s deep-rooted traditions and community devotion. Nagara Panchami, revered particularly in coastal Karnataka, continues to be marked with sincerity and cultural pride at places like Kadekaru Mutt.
