Udupi: Transactions related to Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) will remain temporarily unavailable at post offices from November 4 to 7 due to a transition from the existing software system to a new platform.

According to an official announcement, the postal department is shifting its PLI and RPLI operations to a new software system as part of the transition process. As a result, customers will not be able to carry out insurance-related transactions at post offices during the four-day period.

Services to resume from November 9

The announcement stated that all services related to Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance would be available again from November 9.

Policyholders have been advised to take note of the temporary interruption and plan their insurance-related transactions accordingly.

The suspension is part of the software migration process, which requires the existing system to be replaced with the new platform.

Policyholders advised to plan transactions

The temporary suspension will affect customers who need to complete PLI and RPLI-related transactions through post offices between November 4 and 7.

Customers planning to make payments or carry out other insurance-related work may need to complete their transactions before the suspension begins or wait until services resume.

The postal department has clarified that all services are expected to become available from November 9 after the software transition.
