In a recent incident near Nagodi Ghat, Kollur in Udupi, Karnataka, a private bus lost control and veered off the road, resulting in minor injuries to 17 students. The bus, traveling from Shivamogga to Kundapur, was involved in the accident between 8:45 AM and 9:00 AM on Monday, July 22.
The driver lost control of the bus, and the exact cause of the incident is currently under investigation. Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) ST Siddalingappa arrived at the scene to oversee the situation, as reported by The New Indian Express.
The injured include seven high school students from Kollur and ten Pre-University (PU) students. The bus was transporting students returning from their Sunday holiday in Shivamogga district to Kollur. Among the injured, ten students were admitted to the taluk government hospital in Kundapur but were discharged after medical evaluations confirmed no serious risk. However, three students sustained bone fractures.
Byndoor Block Education Officer (BEO) Nagesh also visited the site. The front portion of the bus was damaged in the accident, underscoring the severity of the incident.
