Udupi: A private bus driver died on the spot in a late-night road accident involving two motorcycles near Ambagilu Junction at Perampalli Cross Road. Two other riders sustained serious injuries in the collision.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep, who was working as a driver in a private city bus in Udupi. Police said the accident occurred late Wednesday night when two bikes collided head-on at the junction, resulting in a severe impact.
Head-on collision leaves one dead
According to preliminary information, the two motorcycles were travelling from opposite directions when they crashed into each other near Ambagilu Junction. The force of the collision left Sandeep dead at the scene.
Two other riders involved in the accident suffered serious injuries, while another biker sustained critical injuries. Locals and passers-by rushed to the spot immediately after the mishap and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital in a goods tempo before an ambulance arrived.
Medical sources said the injured are undergoing treatment, and their condition is being closely monitored.

Police visited the accident site and conducted a preliminary inspection. The damaged motorcycles were removed from the road to ease traffic congestion in the area.
