Udupi: Special religious programmes were held at Sri Raghavendra Math on Rathbedi in the city on Sunday as part of the 355th Aradhana Mahotsav of Raghavendra Gurusarvabhoumar.
The celebrations brought together a large number of devotees, who participated in the religious rituals, had darshan of Sri Raghavendra Swami and received prasadam.
Special prayers offered at Vrindavan
As part of the Aradhana Mahotsav, the alternate seer Shri Vedavardhana Theertha Shripada offered special prayers to the Vrindavan.
He also performed Palla Puja as part of the religious observances held at the Math. The rituals were conducted in accordance with established traditions associated with the Aradhana celebrations.
Devotees gathered at the Math to participate in the programmes and seek blessings.
Seer participates in chariot festival
Following the special prayers, Shri Vedavardhana Theertha Shripada participated in the chariot festival held as part of the celebrations.
As per tradition, he later offered prayers to the Utsava idol at the Chandrashala of the Krishna Math.
The religious rituals and traditional ceremonies added to the spiritual atmosphere in the city, with devotees taking part in the various programmes organised during the Aradhana Mahotsav.
