Udupi: Raj Fishmeal and Oil Co has donated a vehicle to the Udupi district police as part of its initiative to support public service and strengthen the operational capabilities of the police department.
The vehicle was formally handed over to Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, IPS, at the Udupi District Police Office on Monday, October 5. Supriya Pramodh Madhwaraj presented the vehicle keys to the SP on behalf of the company.
Vehicle to support police operations
The initiative is intended to assist the Udupi district police in carrying out their official responsibilities and day-to-day operational activities more effectively.
The vehicle is expected to provide additional logistical support to the police department, particularly in carrying out field duties and other activities connected with maintaining public safety, security and law and order across the district.
The donation comes as part of Raj Fishmeal and Oil Co’s commitment to supporting public service institutions and initiatives that contribute to the welfare and safety of the community.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Raj Fishmeal and Oil Co expressed their honour in extending support to the Udupi police and appreciated the department’s continued efforts to maintain public safety and security.

The police department plays a key role in maintaining law and order, responding to emergencies, preventing crime and ensuring the safety of residents. Additional operational resources can help personnel carry out these responsibilities more efficiently, particularly during field-level duties and other official requirements.

Timmapppa Gowda, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Armed Reserve (DAR), Udupi, and Ravi Kumar, Police Inspector, District Armed Reserve, were present during the vehicle handover.
The initiative highlights the role of cooperation between public institutions and the private sector in strengthening community-oriented public services. Such support can supplement institutional resources and contribute to more effective delivery of essential services.
