Udupi: Former Karnataka minister B Ramanath Rai and his personal assistant sustained injuries after the car they were travelling in collided with a bus at Sanoor village on the Karkala–Moodbidri route on Sunday.
The accident took place within the limits of Karkala Town Police Station.
Rai was travelling with his personal assistant Denzel when the collision occurred. Denzel sustained a fracture to his right leg, according to the information available about the accident.
Five people were travelling in the car
There were five people in the car at the time of the accident, including the driver, a gunman and two personal assistants.
Rai and Denzel were shifted to TMA Pai Hospital for preliminary treatment following the collision.
They are expected to be shifted to Mangaluru for further medical care.
