The intensity of rain decreased across the twin districts on Saturday, bringing moderate and intermittent showers to some areas. However, high-velocity winds continued to cause damage in various locations.

In Belthangady, over 70 houses were damaged due to the recent rains, with estimated losses around Rs 65 lakh. The Kumaradhara bathing ghat at Subramanya is nearing inundation, raising concerns among locals.

High-velocity winds have affected coastal districts for the past two days, uprooting electricity poles and trees, which led to disruptions in electricity supply in several areas. The strong winds and rain caused significant impact in Kundapur, Karkala, Brahmavara, Udupi, Kaup, Belman, Padubidri, Siddapura, Byndoor, Hebri, and Manipal on Friday night.

Efforts are underway to restore normalcy, with local authorities working to clear fallen trees and repair damaged infrastructure. The community remains vigilant as weather conditions continue to fluctuate.
