On Friday evening, August 2, a tragic accident in Hiliyan village, Brahmavara taluk, claimed the life of a scooter rider after a truck struck his vehicle and ran over him. The incident underscores the severe risks faced by local road users.

The victim, Nagaraj (41), was traveling towards Kundapur on his scooter when he was hit by a truck coming from Goliangadi and heading towards Haladi. The force of the collision caused Nagaraj to be thrown onto the road, where the truck’s rear left wheel subsequently ran over his head. The severe impact resulted in fatal head injuries and brain damage, leading to his death at the scene.

Emergency services and local authorities responded quickly, but unfortunately, Nagaraj could not be saved. The Shankaranarayana police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
