On March 16, seven individuals were arrested for playing cards and gambling at Beedingudde, Udupi. The operation was carried out by Puneeth Kumar B.E., Sub-Inspector of Udupi City Police Station, following a tip-off about a group of people gathered in a public space near Diana Talkies Kukkikatte, Badagubettu village, in the Beedingudde Mahatma Gandhi Open Air Auditorium.
The suspects were found sitting on the ground, lighting candles, and engaging in a game of cards while gambling. The police seized Rs 32,800 in cash, along with cards, candles, and a matchbox that were used during the gambling session.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nagaraj, Yamunappa, Majunath, Amin Sab, Sidappa, Guru, and Parashuram. A case has been registered at the Udupi City Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
