Three vehicles were damaged in an incident at Katapady Junction on NH 66 on Thursday, October 17, when a tanker malfunctioned due to a technical fault. The tanker, traveling from Mangaluru to Udupi, struck a car and a scooter from behind before colliding with a nearby police outpost. The impact also resulted in damage to a CCTV camera installed at the junction. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the occupants of the vehicles involved, although the tanker itself sustained significant damage.
The accident temporarily disrupted traffic in the area as local police worked to manage the scene and ensure the safety of motorists.
