Udupi – Vehicular movement along the busy Udupi–Agumbe route came to a standstill for several hours after a large tree was uprooted and fell across the road near the Agumbe checkpost in Theerthahalli taluk.
The sudden tree fall completely blocked the highway, halting all traffic in both directions. The incident caused massive disruption, especially for passenger buses and ambulances heading towards Manipal, leaving commuters stranded and emergency services delayed.
Responding swiftly, Sub-Inspector Shivana Gowda and his team from the Agumbe police station rushed to the location. They worked efficiently to clear the fallen tree and restore traffic movement.
Thanks to their prompt action, the road was reopened after a few hours, easing the traffic congestion and allowing stranded vehicles to resume their journey.
