A devastating fire engulfed the residence of Ramananda Shetty, a local bar owner in Ambalapadi’s Gandhinagar, Udupi, this morning, resulting in a tragic loss. Ramananda Shetty lost his life in the blaze, while his wife, Ashwini Shetty, sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The fire, suspected to have started due to an electrical short circuit while the family was asleep, caused extensive damage to their property, including the destruction of an inverter. Prompt response from the Udupi fire service led to the rescue of four individuals from the burning home.
Despite rescue efforts and immediate medical attention, Ramananda Shetty succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the hospital.
