Today, Pratap, the son-in-law of former BJP minister BC Patil, ended his life tragically by consuming poison in his car near a forest area in Arakere, Honnali taluk of Davanagere. The incident occurred around 3:30 PM, following which Pratap informed his family of his intentions over the phone. No suicide note was discovered at the scene. The police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the reasons that led to Pratap’s decision to take his own life.

In a separate development, the court has granted bail to Rajesh Shah, father of the absconding accused Mihir Shah, on a provisional cash bond of Rs 15,000.
