The District Development and Senior Citizens Empowerment Department recently organized a tricycle distribution programme for physically challenged individuals at Asha Nilaya, Bailur. This initiative aims to enhance mobility and improve the quality of life for those facing physical challenges.
One of the beneficiaries, Subrahmanya, who had been struggling with walking difficulties, was identified by social worker Nithyanada Volakadu. Volakadu provided the department with detailed information about the challenges faced by physically challenged persons, advocating for their needs and support.
The event saw the participation of several key figures, including Ratna Suvarna, the District Disabled Welfare Officer, and Shivaji, the Project Assistant from the District Disabled and Civic Empowerment Department. Manjunath R Hebbar (MRW), Divya, the Warden of Asha Nilaya, and Nithyanada Volakadu were also present to support the initiative.
The distribution of tricycles represents a significant step towards empowering physically challenged individuals, offering them greater independence and ease of movement.
