Udupi: A delegation from the Udupi Diocese extended a cordial welcome to the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Udupi, Swaroopa T K, during a courtesy visit. On the same occasion, the delegation also greeted the district’s new Superintendent of Police (SP), Hariram Shankar.

The representatives, acting on behalf of the Christian community in the district, conveyed the greetings and blessings of Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi Diocese. They also assured the DC and SP of their complete cooperation and support in all administrative and developmental initiatives.

During the interaction, DC Swaroopa T K expressed her appreciation for the warm gesture and underscored the value of understanding the social contributions and institutions run by the Christian community in Udupi. She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting all communities and emphasized the need for active civic engagement to drive progress in the district.

She welcomed the Christian community’s continued involvement in public welfare projects, stating that inclusive development is only possible through the collective efforts of all sections of society.

The delegation comprised Fr Steven D’Souza, Chancellor of the Diocese; Fr Denis D’Sa, Public Relations Officer; and Prashanth Jathanna, State President of the All India Christian Federation and Director of the Christian Development Corporation.
