Udupi court has remanded Garuda gang member Isaac to nine days of police custody after he was shot while attempting to flee from the police.

On March 12, Isaac was apprehended in Hassan following an attempted escape from Bengaluru Nelamangala police in Manipal, during which he crashed into public vehicles. When officers were transporting him back, he allegedly attacked the police near Hiriyadka and tried to run away.

In self-defense, the police fired at his leg, leading to his immediate hospitalization in Manipal. After receiving medical care and undergoing surgery at Ajjarkadu district hospital, he was deemed fit for legal proceedings.

On Monday, the Manipal police presented Isaac before the Udupi court, requesting his custody for further interrogation. The court granted the plea, remanding him until April 1 for additional questioning.

Authorities are set to interrogate Isaac about his involvement in criminal activities, including kidnapping, narcotics trade, and other offenses. The police expect to uncover vital information regarding the operations of the Garuda gang.
