Udupi: A murder case involving a man from Udupi in Sharjah has come to light after a delay, with his wife and minor son reportedly remaining untraceable following his death.
The deceased has been identified as Prakash Kundar, a native of Udupi who was living in Sharjah with his wife Tina and their son. According to a report by Daijiworld, Prakash was reportedly murdered in Sharjah in July, while his wife and son have since gone missing. Sharjah police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and the whereabouts of the two family members.
The case reportedly came to the notice of Prakash’s family after relatives became concerned when they were unable to contact him. His family is now awaiting the repatriation of his mortal remains after completion of legal procedures in Sharjah.
Family lost contact with Prakash
According to the report, Prakash had attempted to contact his brother around July 20. He was reportedly known to communicate with his family through voice messages, but on this occasion he allegedly responded through a text message.
When his brother asked him to make a phone call, communication was reportedly cut off. The sudden loss of contact raised concerns among relatives, particularly because Prakash had not returned to his native place.
The family subsequently contacted the company where Prakash was employed to enquire about his whereabouts.
Company reportedly said he had gone to India
The company reportedly informed Prakash’s relatives that he had gone to India. However, when he did not arrive in his native place, his family became suspicious.
The relatives then approached authorities in Sharjah and reported Prakash missing.
Sharjah police subsequently began searching for him. During the investigation, authorities reportedly traced his body to his own car.
According to the Daijiworld report, police found that Prakash had allegedly been stabbed and that his body had been dismembered. The circumstances of the killing and the sequence of events remain under investigation.
Wife and son reportedly missing
Prakash’s wife Tina and their minor son have reportedly not been traced following his death.
Their disappearance has become a significant part of the investigation. Suspicion has reportedly fallen on Tina because she and the child are currently untraceable. However, police are investigating the circumstances rather than establishing her involvement as a fact.
There are also reports that Tina and her son may have travelled to India after leaving Sharjah. Their present whereabouts remain unclear.

Couple had been married for around 20 years
Prakash and Tina had reportedly been married for around 20 years and had a son who is studying in Class 10.
Family members told authorities that they were not aware of any serious dispute between the couple. This has added to the questions surrounding the circumstances of Prakash’s death.
Prakash had reportedly visited India in December last year before returning to Sharjah.
His death has left relatives in Udupi waiting for further information from the authorities in the UAE.
Prakash worked at Sharjah Airport
Prakash was reportedly employed at Sharjah Airport, while his wife worked as a teacher.
The couple had been residing in Sharjah with their son, where they had established their family life. The sudden disappearance of the wife and son following Prakash’s death has prompted continued efforts to establish their whereabouts.
The family is also waiting for the completion of legal formalities in Sharjah before Prakash’s mortal remains can be repatriated to India.
