Udupi: In an inspiring and rare accomplishment, a mother and her son from Santoor, Shirva, have successfully cleared the II PUC examinations held in March 2025, turning a shared dream into reality.

Roslin Jesintha D’Souza, a resident of Santoor, appeared as a private arts stream candidate from Kaup Government Pre-University College. With coaching from My-Tech Tutorial College, Shirva, she secured an impressive 517 out of 600 marks, passing with distinction.

Meanwhile, her son, Jeshton D’Souza, completed the exam in the science stream from Nitte College, earning a second-class pass.

What makes Roslin’s feat extraordinary is that she cleared her II PUC 25 years after finishing her SSLC. She especially excelled in Kannada, scoring a remarkable 99 out of 100, adding a proud moment to her academic journey.

Roslin, who works at a private institution, took up the challenge to qualify for a promotion at her workplace. Speaking after the results, she expressed joy and satisfaction over her achievement.

Uday Acharya, from My-Tech Institute, lauded her perseverance, stating that strong willpower can overcome all odds. Reshma, her Kannada teacher, shared that Roslin’s success was a moment of pride for the entire faculty.

This mother-son duo’s joint success is a testament to lifelong learning and the power of determination.
