Udupi — District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar confirmed the arrest of three individuals in connection with a murder that occurred late last night in Puttur Subrahmanya Nagar, under Udupi Police Station limits. The killing, he said, stemmed from a seemingly petty cause.

Addressing the media, SP Shankar revealed that two of the arrested suspects already face murder charges in other cases, while the third is a known rowdy-sheeter. “The victim had scolded the wife of one of the accused, and an audio clip of this altercation went viral. This minor issue spiraled into a violent confrontation, ultimately resulting in the murder,” he explained.

The police are continuing their investigation to gather further evidence and uncover the full sequence of events leading to the crime. All three accused will face appropriate legal proceedings once the probe is complete.
