Udupi: Udupi police have arrested Nagesh Poojary (31), a resident of Barkur, in connection with a ₹2.5 crore embezzlement case.
Poojary, an accountant at a hotel in Dubai owned by Praveen Kumar Shetty, was accused of misappropriating funds.
The case was initially filed at the Brahmavar police station and later transferred to the Udupi police station.
Poojary had obtained anticipatory bail from the JMFC court, which was later canceled by the district sessions court and the High Court.
He was produced before a magistrate and remanded to police custody until October 16.
The accused had gone into hiding after the courts rejected his bail pleas.
The police have finally apprehended him near Nanjanagudu in Mysuru district.
